Dress to impress. It’s a phrase we hear often enough, one of the first and foremost pieces of advice we are given with regards to style and fashion. No matter where we go, the point of dressing up stays the same: we dress in order to express our own style, and in order to impress others with it. However, when engaging in certain activities, we often forget this very basic rule, and resort to dressing solely for comfort. But even in the places that you visit to have fun, you must pay close attention to your style. Just as it is important to dress for success when attending business parties, so too is it important to dress for success when attending casino night.
This is a fact that’s often forgotten, especially in Las Vegas, where no dress code is implemented. Patrons often go to the gaming halls dressed casually in shirts, jeans or even shorts. In these casinos, the rule is generally to defer to common decency and dress accordingly, but in some casinos that still maintain an air of exclusivity, it’s important to understand that there are dress codes to consider. While smaller casinos may have a dress code reminiscent of those in the US, larger and more upscale casinos require proper shoes, jacket and trousers for men and equally formal dress for women. Under no circumstances are sports attire, trainers, and tank tops allowed on casino premises.
These dress codes should be easy to follow by themselves, but also remember that you need to remain comfortable for casino night. In casinos in the UK, socialization is also a major draw, so an outfit that restricts movement should be rethought. More people are now playing casino games on smartphones for the convenience they give and the variety of video games that players can instantly switch to whenever they get bored with one. However, if you plan on going to an actual casino to play and socialize, make sure that the outfit you’ll wear will make you comfortable throughout your stay.
And, of course, if you are heading to a casino, the assumption is that you are going in order to have fun. Dressing to impress does not mean foregoing your own sense of style. Find a smart outfit that you don’t just feel comfortable in, but can also personalize enough so that your style comes out. Remember, style is still all about bringing out the MODERN you.
