HOW TO GET GLOWING SKIN AT HOME

8 AM. Your alarm clock goes off and so do you.  You start your daily marathon of accomplishing tasks, running errands and nailing work commitments at lightning speed. And when you’re lying in bed at night having flashes of the superlady you’ve been through the day, your mind wanders to that one moment you stood in front of the mirror. Although, you looked stunning and all set to rule your day, you made a silent wish to preserve your drying and dull skin. Especially at this time of the year!

The New Year Party you’ve been planning for weeks now is finally here. It’s time for a grand celebration with your friends, family and loved ones. The perfect dress, the perfect shoes and the perfect handbag you need to look your dazzling best are neatly tucked in your wardrobe. Plans are in order and so is the party mood.

However, the harsh winter and your hectic lifestyle hasn’t left you time to take care of one of the important aspects – your skin.  How you wish there was a simple remedy to get the glow back on your face. Of course you have your make up kit to make up for it. But, wouldn’t it be lovely if your skin could just cooperate without going through all that jazz. There are a few treatments and creams that will certainly do the trick but, they demand time that you don’t have.

But, what if we provided you with a solution that’s easy, effective and lying right inside your kitchen?

YES! You heard that right. Just grab these 4 ingredients and your skin will thank you for your kind nourishment. And while you’re at it, we give you the benefits for each of them to help you understand better.

THE INGREDIENTS:

      1. Besan or Gram flour (50 gms)
Dry skin? Oily skin? Tanned skin? Gram flour acts as a natural exfoliator for all skin types and problems.
      2. Honey (3tsps)
Honey is the safest and best option for moisturizing the skin and improving skin quality.
      3. Turmeric (3 tsps)
Turmeric is known worldwide as the most effective ingredient for its anti-bacterial and antiseptic  properties.
      4. Water (for mixing purposes)

THE PROCESS:

  1. Mix all the ingredients:

Mixture: Take a bowl and add all the ingredients. Add the water last.

Adding water: Be careful to add the water slowly so, that the paste is of the right texture. While adding water, stir the mixture continuously to ensure that lumps aren’t formed.
Paste Texture: Ideally, the mixture should be a thicker one for best effects. The paste should be thick enough to stay on the skin and not trail off. Do not add too much water. Do ensure that you aren’t allergic to any of the products before application.

    2. Apply the Paste:

Brush usage: The paste should be applied on the skin evenly. Use a clean flat brush for best results. Do check that the brush used is soft so as to avoid any scratches or damage to the skin.

Application: Spread the paste evenly on the face. Ensure that the paste is applied properly in the areas around the eyes and mouth.

   3. Face Massage:

Technique: Massage the face gently with clean hands. Many a times, the results of applying the paste are not seen because of two main reasons: the application technique and the time.

Massaging the face is essential after applying the paste so that the facepack can seep through the skin and provide effective results. It helps the facepack reach the deepest pores of the skin and get rid of dead skin cells, smoothening the exfoliating process.

4. Leave the facepack on:

Activity time: Let the facepack dry on the skin. The ideal time required for drying is 10 minutes if the paste is of the right texture. Leave the facepack on for 5-10 minutes more if it hasn’t dried. Avoid touching your face during this time.

 5. Remove the facepack:

Paper towel: Soak a paper towel in water. Use the wet paper towel to remove the facepack.

Technique: Move the paper towel gently across the face to remove the paste. Do not rub the towel harshly as it could lead to rashes or scratches. Ensure that the towel is completely wet. This will lead to the facepack coming off quickly.

     6. Wash your face:

Wash your face with water to ensure that the facepack is completely off.

Follow this simple process to nourish and pamper your beautiful skin with an attractive glow. We’ve brought this method right out of Grandma’s little book of secrets. And we assure you that the superlady within you will be absolutely delighted with this simple yet super effective remedy. You can thank us later!

I started writing on this blog in November 2011, with a keen interest with Indian Ethnic Fashion, Since I didn't have any experience or could not get an entry-level position or an internship, I made the decision for blogging to demonstrate my writing talents as well as my love of Indian Ethnic fashion. I posted my Indian style ideas and suggestions that help others try something new and to have fun in their clothes, regardless of Size. I generally disagree with the fashion standards of most people and do not believe in wearing clothes that fit your body shape.
