Anyone stepping out of the house during the course of the day will undoubtedly relate to one phenomenon – the scorching heat. Be it any city or any season, the sun indiscriminately plays its role as the master damager of the skin. Although the harm to the skin seems minimal for a day or two, the difference can be visibly seen over a period of time. ‘Beautiful tanned skin’ is a term easier spoken than experienced. It may seem that a dull tan makes the skin look pretty and elegant. But, most of the times, the outcome is disappointing, the skin tone uneven and the effect long lasting.
However, the good news is that you need not fret and worry about that not-very-pretty body tan. As usual, styleshaala brings you an effective remedy that works wonders with simple ingredients right out of the kitchen. So, no more wasting time behind creams, lotions and long procedures. Opt for this simple 5 minute process that is simple, gentle on the skin and cost effective (Admit it, that is a cherry on the cake).
Head straight to your kitchen when you have 5 minutes to spare after a busy day and grab these ingredients.
THE INGREDIENTS:
This inexpensive product is alkaline in nature. It is hence, harmless when applied on the skin. It also acts as a mild antiseptic. It is a natural exfoliator and helps get rid of dead cells on the skin.
Squeeze the lemons to get juice enough for about 2-3 teaspoons. Grandma’s favourite ingredient for practically all kinds of problems is a great option for the skin too. Lemon is a rich source of Vitamin C. It helps in brightening the skin. It also serves as a good bleach which is effective in the lightening of the skin tone.
Salt is a good remedy for dry skin. It is a powerful cleansing agent. It protects the skin from acne problems.
THE PROCESS
Mixture: Take a bowl and add the ingredients.
Adding water: Slowly add water to the mixture. Keep stirring to enable the ingredients to mix well.
Paste Texture: Stir till the mixture lathers. Small lumps might be formed. But, that’s okay. That’s the effect of the baking soda. Ensure that the paste doesn’t have too much water or the effects won’t be seen.
Area of application: Identify the tanned area on the skin. Be careful to apply the paste on the affected area.
Application method: Apply the paste gently. Use your fingers to gently rub the tanned area. Do not let the lumps remain on the skin. Press the lumps to spread them across evenly.
Activity time: Leave the paste on till it dries out. This will give the ingredients in the paste to do their task smoothly and give better results.
Paper towel: Soak a paper towel in water. Use the wet paper towel to remove the paste.
Technique: Clean the paste with the wet towel. Do not rub the area harshly. This could hurt the skin. The remains of the paste will remain on the skin. Wet the paper towel again and remove the remains.
IMPORTANT STYLESHAALA TIPS
Nothing in excess is good. And the rule applies here as well. Do not use the paste everyday on the same affected area, especially in case of sensitive skin.
Keep a gap of 3-4 days before repeating the process.
Certain products, however harmless may not suit the skin. It could result in reactions or blisters if the skin is sensitive or allergic to the products.
To judge the effects, take the paste and first apply it on a small portion on your hand. Leave it on for 5 minutes and wipe it off. This will give you a fair idea if the paste works on your skin.
Lemon and salt have healing properties but, can cause a burning sensation to the skin due to its acidic properties. Avoid the application of the paste in case of injuries, bruises or cuts.
Keeping our little suggestions in mind, blindly follow the process for best results. The process is simple, the result is guaranteed and is sure to become one of the best tips you discover to remove that unwanted tan.
