HOW TO PREVENT AND TREAT DARK CIRCLES

Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani! Anushka Sharma in Sultan! Alia Bhatt in Kapoor and Sons! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil! Vaani Kapoor in Befikre! What was the one thing common between all these characters? Inspite of the nature of their work, their hectic lifestyles, the stress they went through, none of them miraculously had ‘Dark circles.’

Dark circles are indeed a phenomena that could make any woman cringe. It makes a person always look tired and dull. Sometimes, if not taken care of, it can even make one look shabby and not presentable. And even though we have our make-up kits handy for such kind of emergencies, after a particular point, even they render useless in hiding the dark spots around the eyes.

While majority people are aware of sleep-deprivation being a key factor in causing dark circles, here are a few lesser known facts about Dark circles:

  • Dark circles can be increased by using the wrong Make up remover

Excessively using the wrong make up remover can damage the area under the skin thus, making the dark circles worse.

  • Diet and age have a role to play in dark circles

Eating foods that cause inflammation can cause dark circles. As you grow older, the skin begins to lose its elasticity and slows down the natural recovery process. This results in dark circles taking a longer time to heal.

  • Scratching the eyes too much can make dark circles bad

It results in collection of germs thus, making the situation worse.

  • Too much exposure to the sun can cause dark circles

Analysing the facts, we can conclude that although there are some factors that can be taken care of to get rid of dark circles, some factors just cannot be helped. Owing to the various work and social life commitments, it becomes difficult to maintain a healthy environment around the eyes to get rid of the dark circles.

Skin problems like dark circles resurface again and again. They also take a longer time to go away. Also, unless you are one of the characters from the Bollywood movies who have a team of artistes handy to take care of their diet and skin, it isn’t advisable to depend on your Concealer alone to get rid of it.

Hence, we at #StyleShaala provide you with 2 easy ingredients to help the situation. These two methods from ‘Grandma’s Kitchen’ will take some time to show its results. But, they will certainly show the results you need. Just like the saying that has been with us from Grandma’s time ‘Slow and Steady wins the Race.’

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED:

Both the ingredients are equally helpful to get rid of dark circles. You can use either of them for best results. Depending on how dark the circles are, you can use the quantity accordingly. Initially, half of each vegetable should also suffice.

  • Grate the Cucumber/ Potato

Grate it into the finest particles. Gather them in a bowl.

  • Apply the juice from the Cucumber/ Potato

Squeeze out the juice with your fingers. Apply it gently under the eyes. Do not rub it harshly.

Incase of any itchy feeling or burning sensation, wash your eyes immediately. Let it remain on your face.

  • Repeat the process everyday

Do it everyday for 2-3 weeks. You will see the difference in your skin patch. The effect of this homemade remedy will take time but, will have an effect for a longer period of time.

I started writing on this blog in November 2011, with a keen interest with Indian Ethnic Fashion, Since I didn't have any experience or could not get an entry-level position or an internship, I made the decision for blogging to demonstrate my writing talents as well as my love of Indian Ethnic fashion. I posted my Indian style ideas and suggestions that help others try something new and to have fun in their clothes, regardless of Size. I generally disagree with the fashion standards of most people and do not believe in wearing clothes that fit your body shape.
