The Mirraw Woman – Power and Possibilities Infinite!

They are the creators, the fountain from which springs not just new life but the promise of a hope for the future. Continuity and gravity both find expression in the personality of a woman. They are the ones who form and sculpt a new generation – the ones who teach empathy, caring, sharing and all those values that make us human – that make us unique on this planet.

It is no wonder then that Goddesses who are worshipped and raised on the pedestal are ascribed with all these very attributes. The powers to bless, to heal, to nurture, to protect and above all to create are all invested in the Goddess. Today’s woman is the embodiment of the divine feminine. She is a well of resources with the energy and will to achieve anything that she puts her mind to. Much like the ten-armed Goddess who they venerate, the women of today multitask with élan, with a smile on their face and step out in the most stylish of clothes, putting a strong foot forward to confidently claim what was always their birthright – the chance to be anything and everything they want.

The modern woman makes her own choices, whether it is staying home to nurture her children; stepping into the corporate world to carve out a career; boldly taking on the fashion world and silver screen; charging into the field of sports; taking on challenges that were earlier considered the domain of men. They do it all and they do it without compromising on their femininity – the heart at the core that makes them women!

The glass ceiling has not only been cracked it has been demolished by ladies like Shinjini Kumar, CEO, Paytm Payments Bank, Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director, Wockhardt Hospitals, Debarati Sen, Managing Director, 3M India, Radhika Piramal, Managing Director, VIP Industries, Gunjan Soni, Chief Marketing Officer, Myntra to name a few who have gracefully taken on the mantle of the head honchos of the corporate world.

The sports arena is replete with examples of achievements by women’s athletes. At the Commonwealth Games Sanjita Chanu, Punam Yadav, Seema Punia, Navjeet Dhillon and Heena Sidhu did the country and themselves proud. Sportswomen like Jwala Gutta, Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza have become household names. They have the spunk, the attitude and the determination to succeed which makes them women of substance – a role model to look up to and emulate.

Sati, Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati…the pantheon of Goddesses impresses upon women that they too can be invincible. They have the strength to channel the inner Goddess within – to take on the world – do away with the unwanted, the undeserving and the ignoble and rise above to conquer and take what they deserve.

This is the Mirraw woman of today – a lady through and through who is the epitome of grace, traditional at heart, rooted in her culture. Yet, she has the strength to take on challenges and juggle multiple hats. She is equally at ease in a saree or a lehenga as she is in a business suit. Multifaceted, multitalented and multidimensional she carries her Indian-ness close to her heart because she knows that being modern means embracing the new while still holding on to all that’s good in the past.

I started writing on this blog in November 2011, with a keen interest with Indian Ethnic Fashion, Since I didn't have any experience or could not get an entry-level position or an internship, I made the decision for blogging to demonstrate my writing talents as well as my love of Indian Ethnic fashion. I posted my Indian style ideas and suggestions that help others try something new and to have fun in their clothes, regardless of Size. I generally disagree with the fashion standards of most people and do not believe in wearing clothes that fit your body shape.
