10 Fast Recovery Natural Home Remedies for Foot Pain

Foot pains are one of the most bothersome ailments that almost everyone suffers through every now and then. The pain can take hold of your toes, sole, heel or ankle very easily! Reasons for foot pains are very diverse and include old age, excessive walking, wearing uncomfortable shoes, deficiency of minerals, diabetes, ingrown toenails, standing for a long time, and other health issues.

However, obtaining relief from such pains is not very difficult if you know just the right home remedies to use! Here are 10 home remedies for fast recovery from foot pains!

  1. Massage
Massages are the best way of removing pain and stiffness from the body. This is why the best way of getting rid of the bugging foot pains is by massaging them properly. While doing so, make sure to use a little amount of massaging oil so as to relax your foot muscles easily.

Also, try to focus on your foot’s trigger points for better pain relief. The tender spots on your foot must be kneaded with care by pressing and rubbing gently.
  2. Hot and Cold Water
Using a contrast bath can help relax your foot muscles and reduce the pain in them. While hot water enables better blood flow, cold water helps in reducing inflammation.

By dipping your feet in hot and cold water alternatively for 10 seconds each a couple of times, your foot pain will reduce. However, make sure to end with cold water if you have started with hot water!
  3. Ice Therapy
When you feel pain in your feet, most of the times, they can get swollen. To make sure to reduce the pain and swelling, you can massage your foot with crushed pieces of ice in circular motion.

You can also dip your feet into a bowl full of ice pieces. However, do not use ice for more than 10 minutes at once, as ice can damage the nerves and skin.
  4. Sage
Sage can be used to relieve sprains, strains, soreness or cuts in your foot. Sage also helps in reducing the foot odor. All this can be done by creating a mixture of lightly crushed sage leaves with less than one cup of apple cider vinegar.

By applying this mixture on your affected areas, a few times, you will experience great relief from pain.
  5. Epsom Salt
This kind of salt can provide instant relief from the pain in your foot. You can mix two or three tablespoons of Epsom salt into a bucket or mildly warm water.

Soaking your feet in the tub for 15 minutes can help a lot with your pain.
  6. Stretching
Most of the times the pain in your feet is caused due to cramped muscles in your feet. Therefore, you can simply remove the tension in your muscles by stretching them.

Stretching and a little exercise can sometimes help better blood circulation and reduce your foot pains.
  7. Change Your Shoes
The reason for your foot pain can also be the uncomfortable pair of shoes that you wear.

If your footwear can provide support to your feet, effectively cushion them and give rigid support to keep your feet balanced, only then you should keep wearing them.
  8. Exercising Feet Muscles
The muscles in your feet make up around 15% of your entire body muscles. Therefore, it is very important to exercise them from time to time to restore their strength and reduce foot pain.

Your exercise routine must include toe and ankle exercises too.
  9. Clove Oil
Clove oil is very beneficial in treating joint pains, headaches, nail fungus, athlete’s foot and also foot pains. By gently rubbing the aching areas with clove oil can provide instant relief from pain due to relaxed muscles.

Doing so several times a day can help permanently remove the problem.
  10. Vinegar
Vinegar is very beneficial in reducing pain and discomfort caused due to strains or sprains. You can add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a bucket of hot water with a little salt.

By dipping and soaking your feet in it for 20 minutes, you can make your pain go away!

These were a few home remedies that ensure fast recovery from foot pains! Make sure to use them in times of need to help yourself in a natural way!
