Whenever we talk about the Traditional Maharashtrian jewellery, the first design that comes to our mind is the fascinating Maharashtrian Nath. It represents the richness of Maharashtrian history, beauty, and exciting people. Hence, when you see a Maharashtrian Nath, you will see the striking and bold designs, which are as lively as the spirit of this city.

Maharashtrian Nath is called as Brahmi Nath. It has evolved a lot. Now, it is found in gold material which is studded with stones or pearls. You can find this Nath in various designs, shapes and lengths. But it is still found in the same material which makes it different from others. It’s worn in the weddings, Puja and other important occasions.

Though many Naths are similar, still you can find many designs in the market. Some of them are:

#1. Famous Karwari Nath:

Karwari Nath represents the real culture of Maharashtra-Karnataka Border. It looks a lot like a Banu Nath but has a little South Indian touch in it. The name of this nath comes from a city Karwar. These Naths are made up of gold and studded with stones, Basra motis and pearls. It looks extremely beautiful on a Lady.

#2. Traditional Moti Nath:

Moti Nath is known as one of the most popular Traditional Jewellery of all time. It is one a kind Brahmani Nath that suits all the face shapes and goes well with all kinds of Maharashtrian outfits. You can pair it with Moti jewellery and add more elegance to your look.

#3. Elegant Pachu Nath:

Pachu Nath is also known as Emerald Nath. It looks very beautiful and gives that typical Maharashtrian look to a woman. It may have the same design as other Naths but the emeralds make it more beautiful. It doesn’t include colourful stones which also make it different. It looks ethnic and royal.

#4. Precious Diamond Nath:

Though the Maharashtrian Naths are known for its whole gold work with pearls, nowadays, the Diamond Nath is very much in trend. It may include real diamonds or American diamonds but its overall structure is made up of Gold or silver. If you want to spend a lot of money then you can go for transparent stones, which are placed by replacing the pearls.

#5. Cultural Peshwai Nath:

Peshwai Nath is known for its culture, creativity and artwork. It is one of the designer Naths which gives it a showstopper look. Peshwas is known for its Courage, bravery, and of course, their Nath. These Naths are comparatively smaller in size, circular in appearance and suits well with Kolhapuri and Pearl Jewellery.

#6. Bajirao Mastani Nath:

Have you watched the movie Bajirao Mastani? This nath style has got famous after the release of that movie. There, Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) was seen wearing this Nath. It is also categories as a Puneri Nath. It includes colourful stones and other elements, inspired by red and green colours.

#7. Heavy Puneri Nath:

Puneri Nath is circular in shape and has a flowery design. It is made up of large stones and pearls which makes it different from others. It appears to be long and straight. Its design is a little bit similar to Bani and Karwari Naths. It looks great a woman with round nose and who loves to wear heavy jewellery.

#8. Trendy Banu Nath:

Banu Nath is inspired by the character of Banu from a mythological Maharashtrian TV serial ‘Jai Malhar’. In that serial, the main actress plays the role of the Goddess Banai and wore this semi-circular Nath. It has some studded stones and pearls and is comparatively smaller in shape. Also, it is made up of stones and pearls.

No Maharashtrian Functions gets completed without a Nath. It enhances the beauty of your Nose. And the best part is that you don’t have to pierce your nose if you want to wear an Elegant Nath, the market is full of Clip-on Naths, which are very simple to wear. They are Light in weight and friendly to the skin.
